Martha Ankomah is calling on investors to help revive the ailing movie industry. According to her, many movie personalities, act for free or peanuts, just to keep the industry afloat.
Martha says the flamboyance displayed by most of her colleagues on social media should not be mistaken as the reality, as many of them are living in penury.
The actress, who is also an official ambassador for Glo network, added that she was disappointed in politician, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, who said he is disappointed in Ghanaian movies.
“I feel very bad but also very disappointed in what Gabby said. I’ll be so glad if Gabby can actually talk to the people who are investing to come to invest in our movie industry,” she told Joy News interview. “You and I know things are not okay with us. It is just social media hype. It is just trying to feel significant in public. You know I won’t lie, there’s nothing happening so I’m begging you, movie industry, we really need help, we really need investors - what you see on Instagram and Facebook is not real,” she said.
