President of Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey, is not convinced former HIV & AIDS ambassador Joyce Dzidzor Mensah is intelligent as some people perceive her to be.
Mark, who was speaking on Hitz FM on Tuesday Morning, described Joyce Dzidzor as someone who only seeks attention with the aim to be popular.
“I think she wants to become popular. I have been monitoring her over the years; almost everything that she does is to get people to talk about her over months. Some of them are very dirty,” he stated.
A video making rounds on social media over the weekend captured Dzidzor Joyce on board a train begging for funds from the passengers.
Speaking sarcastically to those passengers, she said Ghana is in dire need of funds to put up a church “for Jesus Christ to come and live in Ghana because we have too much (sic) problems.”
“We do not have enough schools for the children, we do not have enough drinking water, we do not have ambulances so when people fall sick they die,” she added.
Majority of Ghanaians found the video offensive as it ridicules the country, and Mark is one of such people.
“You decided to sell Ghana in this form and you went this low to ridicule Ghana forgetting that your country first… the Akans have a saying that you don’t point your home with a left finger. So no matter how bad it is, you solve your problems within. You don’t go out there and sell the whole country to the world as if we don’t know what we are about. It is rather unfortunate she is a creative person and this is how she gives creative people a pay back and we must show our protest that this is not how we creative people think,” he stated.
He continued, “If she thinks she has ideas …do more pieces on malaria, people throwing oranges through car windows, etc. There are a lot of problems she can use acting to solve instead of this. I think she wants to become popular. I have been monitoring her over the years; almost everything that she does is to get people to talk about her over months. Some of them are very dirty. And so it takes time to take her as a serious person even if she means well. I never talk about her issues but this very one,” he added.
Prior to Mark’s statement, Joyce Dzidzor was on Hitz FM claiming that and she is a very intelligent person who knows exactly what she is about in life.
